Candle Safety

We want your Old River candles to bring calm, comfort, and warmth β€” safely.
Here are a few simple tips to help you enjoy every burn while keeping your space cozy and protected.

πŸ”₯ Before You Light

  • Always trim your wooden wick to about β…› inch before each burn.
This helps your candle burn evenly and prevents excess flame or soot.

  • Make sure the wax surface is clean and free of debris (like matches or wick trimmings).

  • Place your candle on a heat-resistant, stable surface, away from drafts, fans, or vents.

πŸ’« While Burning

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended.

  • Keep away from children, pets, curtains, and anything flammable.

  • Let your candle burn long enough to melt the wax edge to edge β€” this helps prevent tunneling and gives you the best scent throw.

  • Avoid burning for more than 4 hours at a time to protect the vessel and maintain fragrance quality.

πŸ•ŠοΈ After You Enjoy

  • Extinguish your candle safely β€” we recommend using a snuffer or gently blowing it out.

  • Let it cool completely before handling or moving.

  • Stop burning your candle when about Β½ inch of wax remains in the vessel.
(That’s when it’s time for a refill β€” and we make those easy!)

🌿 A Little Care Goes a Long Way

Each candle is made with natural ingredients and wooden wicks, so taking care of it not only keeps you safe but helps your candle last longer and perform beautifully.

Light mindfully, relax deeply, and enjoy every moment. πŸ’œ
